Infiniti EX Tested September 2010
Breakdown
Styling

More curvy and swoopy than the SUV-norm, the EX is a good-looking product.
Handling

Very good for a car of this type, but then much of its chassis comes from the 370Z sports car.
Comfort

The EX is set up to be quite sporty, but the ride does not suffer unduly. The firm body control also means no lurching through corners.
Quality + Reliability

Infiniti is a direct competitor to Lexus, so quality and reliability is not going to be an issue.
Performance

The original petrol engine from the 370Z has been joined by a new 3.0 diesel, which is outstanding. It revs (and sounds) almost like a petrol and offers strong performance.
Roominess

The EX is designed to look good and handle well. If you want maximum interior space, you are looking at the wrong vehicle.
Running Costs

If Infiniti can keep residual values at a decent level, running costs should be no worse than average for the class.
Value for money

As you would expect, it has the full Christmas-tree specification, so there is lots of kit for the money.
Stereo / Sat nav

A premium Japanese car is hardly going to fail here.
