Top Gear is back! The new season of Top Gear starts on Sunday 16 June, along with a brand-new presenting line up of Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris. The new line-up might be a strange choice for some people but the one thing they all share is a good sense of humour and, of course, a love of cars!

Jeremy Clarkson

Jeremy joined the show in 1988 in its earlier format and then returned to front the show’s new format in 2002 along with co-presenters James May and Richard Hammond. Now all three star in their own motoring show, The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime. Over the years he’s driven some of the craziest cars in the world, but what does he choose to include in his own collection? Past and present cars owned by Clarkson include a Porsche 911, the 1 millionth Range Rover produced, a Ford GT, a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and a Lotus Elise owned by his then wife.

Chris Evans

As the highest paid BBC star, with an annual salary of between £2-2.5 million, you’d expect Evans to own a pretty impressive car collection. It certainly doesn’t disappoint, from high performance sports cars and rare classics to more unusual purchases. His collection has contained a range of Ferraris, including the LaFerrari, which you can only be invited to purchase, a 1972 VW Beetle and a 1964 Daimler V8 Vicarage Convertible. He famously paid £230,000 for the F1 racing car driving by James Hunt before his title winning season in 1976 and, most random of all, the only working car built for the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang film. A car connoisseur indeed! In addition to his love of cars and work with the BBC, Evans is also the founder of CarFest, a family friendly festival which includes music, entertainment and of course, cars!

Freddie Flintoff

Former cricketer and team captain on A League of your own, Freddie is known for hitting the headlines but one of his most embarrassing is definitely car related. At 6ft 4in, when it comes to buying a car, you’d think he’d opt for something a bit practical, or at least one he could fit into but not for Freddie. He’s recently admitted to spending £100,000 on a Lamborghini that he admitted he could barely drive home after buying it.

“If I try and use the indicator, it gets stuck on my knee,” the TV personality told the Sun. “I have had to cut my hair because the roof was squashing my fringe.”

You can’t deny his taste in cars but we’re hoping his stint on Top Gear will help him with his future purchase choices.

Paddy McGuinness

It’s fair to say that the popular TV presenter of shows such as Take me out and Stars in their cars has had a variety of cars over the years. In an interview with Top Gear magazine, Paddy ran through his life in cars starting with the car he learnt to drive in – a Hillman Avenger. He bought his first car from his mate for only £90, a red Ford Escort, it didn’t have an MOT or tax but did come with pepperpot alloys! But with fame comes an upgraded car collection, which has included a Range Rover Sport, Aston Martin Vantage V8, Ferrari California and a Bentley Continental GT.

Matt LeBlanc

Best known for his role as Joey in Friends, Matt was a surprise choice for joining the Top Gear team in 2016. But with his impressive car collection it’s not hard to see why he was chosen for the role, not to mention he was the fastest celeb to ever complete the Top Gear test track. As a son of a car mechanic, a passion for cars runs in his blood not only when it comes to fixing them but owning them. His collection has included a Porsche 911 GT2 RS, a Ferrari 360 Modena which he owned for 12 years whilst only racking up 9,000 miles on the clock, a Ferrari 458 Italia, Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG and a Fiat X1/9. A collection his famed character could only dream of.
