Equipment List

'YM 8253' was first registered in London in 1925 and competed in the following year's Inter-Varsity Hill Climb for Cambridge University driven by a gentleman named Smith
a selection of pre- and post-war photographs
and all the other nice details that make the 1925 model slightly different from those of subsequent years. Out of the 305 produced only 45 of these thoroughbreds are known to still exist in varying degrees of originality

including the Classic Le Mans and Paris-Deauville. In 2009 the Sunbeam was subject to a complete top-end rebuild and was fitted with new Arias pistons by marque expert Jim Catnach

One of only 305 3.0-litre Twin Cams made

since when it has been carefully run in. The bottom-end has a nickel chromium crankshaft fitted with shell bearings and retains excellent oil pressure. This car retains its original chassis

the car has been extensively used by him on Continental and British rallies

which was sympathetically restored by Bill Barrott in the 1990s with the emphasis on conservation rather than replacement. At the same time a full mechanical rebuild was undertaken by Mick Collis
whose ascent was pictured in The Motor's report of 9th March 1926 (copy on file). The car is still finished in its original Cambridge Blue. 'YM 8253' comes with a complete history of owners from new
with a newly cast Collis engine block fitted. Acquired by the current owner in 2006
