The project to restore the 1970 series 2A began in 2008 with a local engineer and land rover enthusiasts putting heart soul and passion and blood and tears into this stunning series 2A.It was completed in 2011 and was kept in dry storage and used only on Sundays in the summer for local journeys. The vehicle had a full strip down and nut and bolt restoration to achieve a first class standard. The body was also painted off the chassis and rebuilt with care and detail. We have a photo library to show the full nut and bolt full strip down restoration. To ensure it was safer to drive and appealed to the wider market they fitted a 200 tdi engine complete with turbo intercooler and range rover differentials,FAIRLY OVERDRIVE and parabolic springs. The result...........................well truly amazing!!!!//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////Many Land Rover historians consider the Series IIA to be the best of the Series models, it exists in a Goldilocks zone between refinement and simplicity â?? before the crack-prone plastic dashboards of the Series III but after some engine and transmission improvements over the Series II. Land Rover used the Series IIA as a transitional model between the Series II and the Series III, the lights were moved from the grill to the front wings in 1969, a new diesel engine was offered (closely based on the 2.25 litre petrol engine), and in 1967 a 2.6 litre inline 6 cylinder petrol engine was introduced (for the LWB models). The production of the Series IIA ran from 1961 till 1971, a 10 year stretch that many remember as being the golden age of the British 4Ã?4. It was a time before the Japanese had entered the market in any significant way and the American 4Ã?4 manufacturers were more focused on their

1955 HILLMAN MINX PICK UP Finished in green with red trim. The current V5 shows the previous keepers to be only one since January 1955. The mileage shown as 26000 miles from new is believed to be correct. It is a historic vehicle so it is exempt from both road tax and MoT and it is sold with the valuable registration number of 883 XUV. The Minx Pick up is also known as the new Commer light pick up. It has the 1500cc engine with a 4 speed column gear change. The manufacturers advert at the time shows a picture of the pick-up with a pipe smoking farmer and a couple of glamorous assistants. The text explaining that it was the handiest, most economical of all general purpose vehicles. It was strong, reliable and capable of operating on the highway or rough country track – guaranteeing you years of trouble free service. The history folder includes the above mentioned advert, the original pictures and catalogues of Hillmans, current V5, DVLA paperwork, Hillman car write ups. The features include drop down tailgate, chrome centre bonnet strip with emblem, chrome strip to sides, chrome strip to guttering, period number plates, door mirrors, aerial, period white steering wheel, ashtray, parcel shelf, oak wood panelling to pick-up bed, tonneau cover for pick-up bed, sun visors and opening quarter lights. This very rare vehicle has formed part of a small museum/car collection for many years in Redruth, Cornwall. Apparently there are very few of these vehicles in existence and still on the road today. We have yet to see one, other than this in my many years in the motor trade. This car would be great for advertising, campaigning, business advertising, car collection, museum or just for fun and to stand out in a crowd. £13995
